Title: After-School Specialist
Description:
Fulfills the mission of the Catholic Church by planning, guiding and evaluating the learning process of the students.
Will be expected to support and provide the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social and growth toward a successful future.
Assists in execution of after-school activity planning.
Implements after-school programming plan, facilitates learning by initiating, directing, supporting, and evaluating the learning process.
Encourages self-initiated learning and self-direction in students.
Promotes diverse approaches to problem solving while encouraging student creativity.
The essential functions of the after-school specialist include, but are not limited to, supporting the preparation of all daily activities; execution of daily activities assigned; reinforcement of student (behavioral) management and discipline of students; support of after school director in preparation of academic enrichment lessons where necessary; reporting student progress to director as needed; meeting with parents, teachers and administration upon request; attendance and participation at meetings pertaining to the professional planning and evaluation of the after-school program.
Prospective teacher candidates are required to have:
A minimum of an ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE in Education or a related field of study from an accredited college or university
A successfully cleared background check.
Preference is given to:
A candidate with a BACHELOR'S DEGREE in Education or a related field of study from an accredited college or university
Candidates with prior education aide experience
Candidates with after-school planning experience
Hourly Rate: Job Type: Part Time, 3:00pm -6:00pm
